The solution is using a system with sufficient flexibility – often referred to as elasticity – to achieve an optimal operational environment without hitting the limit of diminishing returns.

A computer’s strength is dependent on the reliability of its components. This includes the mean time between failure, the meantime to repair, and system redundancy. Today, there is no excuse for a computer system – especially a cloud-based system – going down. If a component or a series of components fail simultaneously, a strong system will reroute traffic and reallocate resources as needed to present a seamless, totally transparent computing environment to the user. This also ensures the safety and consistent reliability of the system.

How Safe Is Safe Enough?

Clearly, this is an analytical task. There is no such thing as total safety; relative safety is the best one can reasonably expect. Budgetary constraints, mission requirements, the nature of the data, and the degree of access required all are contributing factors in determining the biggest, fastest, strongest and safest solution for any cloud computing web hosting requirement.
